Emoze: finding the S60 PUSH email solution

Finding the optimal PUSH email solution on S60 can be tricky. I have tried many on my previous E61, and now E51; Mail for Exchange (quirky), SEVEN AOM (slow), the built-in IMAP client with IDLE (awkward and slow), Blackberry connect (cumbersome), and now Emoze (back for my second time around). I’m passionate about connectivity so here it goes…

Emoze I have found is the most unobtrusive, easiest to use, and fastest solution out there. This thing delivers mail SO fast! In its current stage, when up and working properly, it is an absolute dream to use. I have had issues with sending from time to time with my Google apps account, but now things seem to be very smooth. I should mention as of right now, emoze is also free.

I found that using the built in Google apps/GMail settings don’t work very well, rather go into the Other POP/IMAP option and enter all of your server settings yourself. This is THE way to go when using emoze if you have the patience to do your own settings. I have had zero issues on this setup. I have never had a dropped connection, missed mail, or formatting issues.

Emoze, when working properly provides a seamless email experience that is an absolute joy to use. The emoze website has a small, but little use support section and their version release notes are currently not available for the latest version, 1.5 (18). Things I would like to see: please let us have a custom signature option, as now you can only use the emoze advertising signature.

If emoze continues to become a polished and refined product (they are there already with the great, fast network), than it could be a serious player in wireless PUSH email to rival RIM and its Blackberry. Emoze team; polish this app like mad, work out the bugs, make it ever more seamless and unobtrusive.

The best way to experience PUSH email it to not even know that it’s there, working in the background, delivering an instantaneous, rock-solid, and ultra-smooth email experience.

Emoze is so close…

have being using Seven for more then a year, until it got some issues with Gmail. moved to Emoze and quite happy with it. especially like data compression and HTML option for mails. disadvantage – no vibration for emails on my e71. hope the emoze team will solve it soon.
another thing – seven was a bit more stable, even if killed, it would come back without you asking for it. otherwise the application is great.

I have been using seven but installed emoze today to experience a different flavor.

The interface is good. I like it more than seven. However there is one little thing which has been bothering me.

In seven , I can check email at will. I dont have to remain connected at all times. Whenever I want to check mail, I go to my mailbox and select ‘check email’. It gets connected only to check email and returns to its dormant mode after its done. Is there such a possibility in emoze too? I dont like to remain connected all the time. Even though I have a fixed plan (unlimited GPRS) I do not like the ‘Packet Data connection on hold’ warning every time I make/attend a call. Is there a solution whereby I will be able to check emoze email only when I want to ?

Now that I am finally on AT&T I have blackberry connect set up. Hands down, the BEST email experience I have ever had! Game over.

I would love to have emoze work with my E51, but no matter what I do, without changing any settings, it will just stop working after about 3 days. I need my email to work for more than 3 days…

So, all these praises for Emoze i had… 2 days ago it just quit working for me completely! That’s it, I’m done. I now use SEVEN AOM beta, which offers some great features over Emoze like using the built in notification light and long pressing to mailbox key to start a new email. SEVEN beta has been ROCK SOLID for me for 4 days straight. Amazing! It is the best solution I have found. Period. Thank you SEVEN!
